Who had the biggest influence on your career & why?My sister. She decided to go back to school to become an OB/GYN after working as a graphic designer. I know, graphic designer to doctor, who would have thought? But this made me realize that I needed to pursue what would make me happy in my career, no matter what it took. What drove your decision to get into the marketing business?I kind of fell into marketing… You see, my degree is Sports Administration/Kinesiology but a friend of mine was working at a local agency here in Houston and I decided to try it. I LOVE IT! Marketing is in my blood, plus my personality aligns well with the industry. Share a great client story.I worked with the Houston SPCA and we were in a meeting with the executive director. She was telling the group how they had recently rescued three (3) brown bears from an abusive owner and described the horrific living conditions of which they were subjected to. One of the bears actually gave her a hug after he drank a whole tub of fresh water. The story brought tears to my eyes of joy and sorrow, but it is one I will remember forever. I was able to interact with the bears at the facility before they left to go to their new home – it was amazing to say the least! What attracted you to DMN3?I was looking for the agency environment and the collaboration you get from working in a large group. DMN3 is a close-knit family of creative, strategic and dynamic people who all have the same goal of working together to create, develop, design and execute successful marketing campaigns. What is your method for developing creative solutions for your clients?Listen! Analyze! Develop! Execute! In your opinion, what makes a great brand? One that captures the global audience and never looks back! What driving career goals are you still pursuing?I'm training to be Tony Romo's replacement... Name at least one talent that you wish you could master?Contortionist. If you were marooned on a desert island, what would you miss most?Football season – College and Pro. What food helps you think creatively?Wine – um, it's made from grapes, right? What is your favorite sports team & why?Dallas Cowboys! I have been a fan since I was 6 years old. I even had a pair of tube socks with Stars and wore them with pride. Tell us about your pets. The Boxer Boyz – Baxter and Bootsy. Everyone refers to them as the Boyz (yes, spelled with a "z"). No one messes with mother when they are around unless you're willing to give them a tummy rub or treat. Describe your childhood and include where you grew up.I grew up in the small town of Garwood, Texas, about an hour south of Houston. My childhood was a blast because I grew up on a farm and had lots of animals to play with – I am the youngest of 6 children. People think I am spoiled because of this, but growing up in a German/Czech household, no one was spoiled. What is your all-time favorite TV program? (on-air or not)Magnum P.I. – I love Ferrari's and Tom Selleck is not so bad himself! When you're not working, what do you do for fun?Gym, cooking, hanging with friends, travel, watch sports. |
