Who had the biggest influence on your career & why?

The head of the office at my previous job was also a workaholic. I worked there for almost 23 years.

What drove your decision to get into the marketing business?

I originally wanted to be a newspaper reporter but decided I didn't want the long hours. I began taking advertising courses then I studied marketing to see how advertising worked into the marketing plan.

What was your most embarrassing career moment?

Letting an ad go out for "Superlo" instead of "Superflo."

I never tell stories about clients just in case they don't think it's funny.

What is your method for developing creative solutions for your clients?

Trying to think like a potential customer.

In your opinion, what makes a great brand?

Xerox and Kleenex.

Name at least one talent that you wish you could master?

Singing, I can't carry a tune.

If you were marooned on a desert island, what would you miss most?

My sailboat.

What food helps you think creatively?

Diet Dr Pepper and peanut butter crackers.

The Texas Longhorns – I went to school there.
