Gail Hood
Project Manager

Who had the biggest influence on your career & why?
First, my high school art teacher, Peter Renoir (good name for an art instructor, huh?) and later in college, my Commercial Design Instructor. I had six art classes a day but I knew I wouldn't make a living by painting.
What drove your decision to get into the marketing business?
I began as a graphic artist, then art director and later worked on project and production management. Marketing just felt like a natural progression, a culmination of all the knowledge from the previous careers.
What are you most proud of – your finest hour?
During the Compaq/HP merger, I managed production of training materials for Compaq Technical, Customer Service and Sales – producing course materials for more than 340 classes. When the Compaq Print Shop closed, we found a vendor to take on the volume of work, and I successfully re-branded the training manuals quickly without missing a single class deadline in the U.S, Canada and Latin America.
What attracted you to DMN3?
Besides needing a job? Seriously, the people. DMN3 has a solid base of talent and when you get this many talented people together, great things happen for our clients.
Name at least one talent that you wish you could master?
Life Drawing.
If you were marooned on a desert island, what would you miss most?
My son, parents, the cats.
What food helps you think creatively?
Cheetos and Girl Scout Mint Cookies.
What is your favorite sports team & why?
I've always had a soft spot for the New Orleans Saints. I like the Texans, Rockets and Longhorns. Actually, I like any team that IS NOT the Dallas Cowboys.
Name your biggest frustration.
There have been many over the years but the worst is people who say "supposebly" instead of "supposedly." It makes me cringe.
Describe your childhood and include where you grew up.
I was born in Colorado Springs but lived in Texas since I was six. Corpus Christi was a great place to grow up. I met my best friend there in 7th grade and we've been "sisters" ever since. To this day, we often talk about the mischief that we frequently got into (especially in college). We want to write a book about it, but for the sake of our families, we keep our mouths shut.
What is your all-time favorite TV program (on-air or not)?
It's impossible to choose just one since they come and go. I really liked the Sopranos, Carnevale, and Six Feet Under... all gone now, thanks a lot HBO! I loved M*A*S*H when I was growing up.
When you're not working, what do you do for fun?
Mostly go to lunch or dinner with friends. Once a year, my son and I go see Aerosmith. The backstage thing – tour, pre-concert party and dinner, sit in on the sound check and sometimes get to sit and talk to the band before the show. We've done this for 13 years now and have met some wonderful people who have become lifelong friends. I read voraciously and constantly. I love spending time with the cats. I love solitude.
