What drove your decision to get into the marketing business?

Owning businesses that were dependent upon marketing and advertising, seeing the impact a successful marketing campaign can make to the bottom line, and enjoying the creative and strategic process of building a marketing initiative.

What are you most proud of – your finest hour?

When my three year old son told four intoxicated and belligerent men who were seated in front of us at a Texans football game that their “potty mouths were dirty.” It was a classic moment!

What attracted you to DMN3?

I was a client and knew DMN3 was better than any other direct agency. It was all about the bottom line then and it still is. I like working in environments like that!

In your opinion, what makes a great brand?

I think a great brand makes a significant impact on market share in its industry and it creates loyalty with its audience. Essentially brands are great when they own their market and establish utmost loyalty with the consumer.

Name at least one talent that you wish you could master.

Playing the harmonica…OK, any musical instrument for that matter…I'm closer on the harmonica than anything else, so I'll start there.

What food helps you think creatively?

Grapes…specifically Cabernet!

Share a great client story.

Any time a client refers someone to us for business – that's a great client story.

Tell us about your pets.

Hmmm…well…I was an accomplice in the demise of my son's beta fish, tadpole, ladybug and butterfly larvae…we have no pets. But if I had one, it would be a lab for sure (jury is still out on whether it would be black, yellow or chocolate).

Describe your childhood & include where you grew up.

I grew up in the suburbs of Houston and went to public school where I met my eight best friends. During the summer, we attended camp in West Texas and spent hours floating down the Guadalupe or in any available pool. Winters were spent in football stadiums and on the ski slopes. Between fighting with my two older brothers and gazing starry-eyed at their friends, we spent many hours cooking with mom and dad in the kitchen. Our home had a revolving door for friends and family, and the food was always great. We didn't care about the carbs and calories, it was all about taste – when we felt fat we just ran…life was good!
