Who had the biggest influence on your career & why?

My parents. At a young age, they instilled in me the value of hard work, the importance of treating everyone with respect, and the power of putting a smile on my face every day.

What drove your decision to get into the marketing business?

My first job provided the opportunity to learn and understand the power of direct marketing and direct mail. I was hooked from "day one."

Share a great client story.

I was working with a national cable operator on the west coast and they were using a basic "non subscriber file" for the acquisition mailings they were doing several times a year. They were seeing decent results, but they were not using segmentation, testing or ethnic targeting to customize their messages. After we suggested modeling their file and doing some ethnic targeting, subsequent mailings achieved results up to 200%, 300% higher than the previous mailings. And best of all, we achieved the higher results with a common sense approach and without spending a lot of money.

What is your method for developing creative solutions for your clients?

We all have two ears and two eyes, while we only have one mouth. Listening and observing at least twice as much as you speak allows you to uncover powerful insight into your clients needs.

What driving career goals are you still pursuing?

Flawless execution of everything I do, every day.

Name at least one talent that you wish you could master?

Learning Spanish.

What food helps you think creatively?

Pizza and I could eat it any time, any place, with any toppings.

What is your favorite sports team & why?

The St. Louis Cardinals are the best baseball team in America. I lived in St. Louis for 6 years and fell in love with the team and their fans. Win or lose, we support our Cardinals.

Describe your childhood and include where you grew up.

I was born in Columbus, OH and grew up in Louisville, KY, the home of the Kentucky Derby. I have an identical twin brother, so everything always has been and still is a competition to be the best, be the first, etc.
